A cost comparison study was done in May 2008. LTL rates of name carriers was derived from Freightquote.com. The smallest weight delta (25#) compared the 12# SmartSkid with a 38#wood pallet equivalent. The load was1,000#, class 100, using 48 x 40 x 36 cube. Using nine variable ship-to locations as close as 300 miles to as far as 3000 miles, the savings with SmartSkid ranged from $7.65 to $21.66 per pallet!
